O/N parking near Quartzite

Next Sunday we are on our way through and will spend a night or two.
We have never camped at Q and wonder if somebody can direct us to an easy (free) parking area....after easy our next priority is quiet!
thanks for any advice and hope to see some of you there....

RE: link 10 battery monitor tech help, please

Ok, I reset it. The only change I can see is that the amp hours went to 0 and now are reading to one decimal place and moving fairly quickly upwards (at the one decimal place instead of a whole number)

link 10 battery monitor tech help, please

I had hooked up my used Link last year but had issues with wiring that I resolved today (before we start boondocking next week).
The readings are weird.
Here is the outline of our situation:
We have been plugged in to electricity for a month. The charge wizard was on the slow blink at startup. I have 2 almost new 6volt U220 Interstate golf cart batteries.
I started up the Link about 6 hours ago. It came on fine, but it showed the following:
1. the light bar is fully lit, but there is no flashing light indicating full charge.
2. Volts are flashing between 0.00 and .05 every second. This has not changed even tho I manually set the charge wizard to bulk charge mode. My actual voltage at the battery (now) is 13.7.
3. the amps are reading a steady 511
4. The amp hours were somewhere around the 500 mark on startup (holdover from the previous install?) but are climbing at the pace of about 1 per every 2 seconds...they are now over 1700.
5. The time is reading CCC....I am not using any battery power and have not since I plugged it in.
I did reset the capacity from 200 to my actual 220 without incident.
Can anybody advise what might be going on?
thanks!

RE: Magna SF2700 generator

the reviews above are not for the generator the OP talks about, but they are for Magna gens.
This new model WITH remote start, which is a $400 add on for other generators is a KILLER deal if it is reliable....I am watching as I would seriously consider it if experience shows it is not a piece of crap...

RE: want to charge batteries faster

If you are willing to charge faster than suggested, and thereby shorten the battery life, what about allowing the batteries to go below 50% regularly? If you take them down to 30% it will shorten their life but (my understanding is) they will charge faster from 30-70 (as an example) than from 50-80.
You could do this with your current setup.
Given the relatively small cost of batteries I have wondered about following this myself...it is sometimes a pain or expensive to keep my batteries above 50% but even if I take a year or two off of their life it might be more economic to let them go down lower occasionally....just a thought

RE: Beaudry RV Tucson

Yep, I am passing on it.
Also found reviews on a site that is something like "rv service reviews" and just like I figured with any big dealership, satisfaction is low.

RE: catalytic heater install

my detector is not just an alarm, it detects small amounts.
Small amounts ARE dangerous if they are present for long periods of time....like overnight.

Luckenbach Texas

A famous place for sure...just wanted any campers to know that they have recently changed their policy and now allow dry camping for $15 a night. Large field available.
Entertainment can be found here
If you are in the Hill Country and want to party without worrying about driving, this is a neat, laid back place to hang out.

Beaudry RV Tucson

Any thoughts on service at this shop? They have a $200 trailer special where they pull the wheels etc and basically go over all of the systems. The real work they do, beside checking, is repack bearings, change AC filter, clean battery and cables.
Last time I had the wheels pulled it cost me the $200 so all of the other stuff, while not critical, is basically thrown in.
Of course I have been around long enough to know that this is a loss leader. But is this a shop whose opinion can be trusted?

RE: catalytic heater install

I have the CO battery powered detector and paid about $20 for it....shop around.
As to the Cat not producing CO, I wonder why the CO detector detects small amounts of CO when I run my CAT without ventilation...coincidence? I think not.

RE: Laminate wood flooring

Laminate is fine as long as it does not get wet. We put it right through last year and have already torn it up in the bathroom.
Small leaks will kill it....

RE: catalytic heater install

Everyone should have a good CO detector in their rig before using an extra gas heater, isn't your life worth $20?

RE: cellular phones usage

I am no AT&T booster, but I have bought phones through them and on Ebay.
It is cheaper through ATT! Like under $10 with free shipping for a simple Nokia phone.
I just paid $29.99 for a refurb Nokia flip phone with music and camera throught ATT.

fantastic fan crank broken

Just started manually turning the vent crank and it let go inside....now it won't go up manually or automatic.
So....what's the fix? Replace the whole plastic control panel or is there some gear inside that is replacable???
thanks
